CINEMATOGRAPHY REEL 2024

About

Hani Hamza is a cinematographer and editor currently based in Berlin, previously based in Kuwait and India. His love for music, cinema and the arts is what drives his passion to create moving and still images. He did his B.A in Mass Communication at Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication and his M.A in Cinematography from Metfilmschool, Berlin.

Schrott, directed by Isam Karahasanovic, was Hani’s graduate film project as a cinematographer and won the Jury’s Best Short Film award at the Berlin Independent Film Festival in 2023. The film was also featured at the Sarajevo Film Festival as part of the Bosnian Film Showcase. Additionally, Hani’s cinematography in Rest Assured, a short film directed by Adam El Nabili, earned a Best Short award at the Short Stop International Film Festival and a nomination for Best Cinematography in the same event.Hani has collaborated on notable artistic projects, including Wunderparking, an art-activist project by Jak Writh, exhibited at the Kommunale Galerie in Berlin, where he contributed as a video maker. He also worked with Muddasir Sheikh as the editor and colorist for a three-screen video installation showcased at the Forecast Edition 9. His music video Accidentally Platonic for Rotterdam-based artist Dream0 was selected for the Silver Screening section of the Berlin Music Video Awards, further cementing his reputation for crafting visually compelling narratives.
Currently he is working as the cinematographer on a documentary on South Asian Delivery workers in Berlin alongside the Documentary Film Maker Deb Arun.
